In the late 40’s and early 50’s The place to go for latin was Pierre and Laval studios in London (Soho)… I remember them going on vacation to Cuba and coming back a few weeks later with the new rhumba. Instead of the ‘1and 2.3. beat they were teaching the .and 1.2.3. They said this was the new latin Rhumba. Called in Cuba “La Systema Cubana” The Cuban System.
